Tanks

Tanks come in many shapes and sizes. All of our tanks are made to order to a very high build quality.

Our tanks are made of various materials

Polyethylene (PE) Tanks
Polyethylene is a very inert material and as such is ideal for water quality sensitive species, such as shellfish larvae etc.. The other benefit of polyethylene is that hardly anything will stick to it, which makes it easy to sterilise and keep clean.

Other advantages of polyethylene is that the manufacturing process is very quick with many tanks a day able to be produced from one mould. This is important where large numbers are required by set deadlines. Polyethylene tanks have a very long life and do not become brittle over time.

The polyethylene tanks are available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and are made from high density polyethylene, which has a very smooth and slippery finish.

Ask Aqua Systems staff for a quotation for the size of the tanks that you require and we will advise a quote to the nearest tank to your requirements.

Information that will be required to quote is as follows:

Species and stage of development
Tank operating depth
Internal tank width required
Dimensions of building or area that the tanks are to be sited in
Drainage arrangement
Preferred screen type.

GRP (Glassfibre) Tanks
GRP has been the mainstay of the aquaculture tank industry for many decades. The advantages of GRP include the ability to manufacture complex shapes and patterns and also to mould larger tanks in sections. GRP is relatively easy to repair and fix object to and although it has a long life, it can eventually begin to go brittle and become prone to damage, unlike polyethylene, which has a longer life. Our standard range of GRP tanks has been developed specifically to meet the needs of the aquaculture industry. If you require a special shape , please ring or fax us with the information given above - in the Polyethylene Section - for a speedy reply.
