The Hydrotech drumfilter is a mechanical, self-cleaning filter, especially designed with a view to achieving high performance in systems where it is essential to prevent the particles from fragmentation. The filter works without pressure requirement to force the water through the screen and is robustly designed and the water is filtered through the periphery of the slowly rotating drum, which is covered in special filter elements, available from 6 to 3000m m mesh. The special cell structure of the elements, results in gentle separation of the solids from the liquid. Once separated, the solids are rinsed off into a collection trough from where they can are discharged.
The water flows by gravity into the drum through the filter segments. Assisted by the filter elements special cell structure particles are carefully separated from the liquid. When the drum screen is clogged the backwash cycle is started and solid back-washed into the collecting trough.
