| These cartridge filters are excellent for small flow applications such as marine hatcheries, research units and aquaria. The filters can either be loaded with a media such as zeolite / activated carbon, or a wound filament for solids filtration. The filter housings have a unique optional by-pass valve, which allows the filter to be changed, without interrupting the flow. The units are all rated to 100psi and use all standard 10" filter cartridges. |

How Fine Do I Need My Filtration? This depends on the quality of the water in the systems and the tolerance of the fish to fine solids. It is very tempting to always go for the finest filtration possible, in the belief that it will always benefit the stock. This however is not always the case. For example: a 3kg fish is not going to be bothered about particles of 5 microns. Remember; the finer the filter, the quicker it will block and therefore need replacing / cleaning. It is always preferable to use |
