| Sodium Nitrite Using Sodium Nitrite in conjunction with ammonia chloride (above) can speed up the filter maturation process if you are in a hurry. It acts by providing a source of nitrite right from the start, rather than waiting for it to be produced as part of the filter maturation process. Average recirculation system start up rates are in the region of 0.2 kg per day per 100m3 system volume for the first 5-10 days. |
