Alarm Panels

Most alarm panels follow a general design and are primarily made for other industries, with sales to the fish farming industry as a bit of a bonus........ We make our alarm panels for fish farmers !

We know how easy it is for alarm panels to be compromised in an aquaculture situation, where there are a number of staff, all performing tasks, at the same time, which may or may not affect an alarm system.
Our alarm panels have no ON/OFF button......... probably one of the single highest causes of large scale fish mortality on a farm, the panel can only be deactivated by opening the panel itself, for which a special key is required, . Instead of an ON/OFF switch, the panels can be fitted with an automatic resetting time out feature (see below).

General Alarm Panel Features

Simple Controls - A user friendly digital display unit mounted on the alarm panel facia can return and display in sequence up to one hundred active or previous faults, giving the date and the time information, also whether the fault was acknowledged by farm personnel.
Dial Out Feature -
Optional Extra
Our auto dialer enables four telephone numbers to be easily installed and messages to be easily recorded. The dialer features an LCD display, which confirms the numbers being punched in.
Time Out Feature -
Optional Extra
This enables a designated channels to be 'put on hold', on a timer, whilst farm work is carried out, which may affect the panel. If the panel is not reset after the work is complete, it does it itself at the end of the times period. This eliminates the need to turn off the panel.
Mute Feature - This enables alarm dial out and audible alarm to be switched off, on a built in timer, whilst the alarm situation is dealt with. If the alarm does not detect that the problem is solved within a set time, it will reactivate at the end of the time period.
Cancel Feature - An extension to the alarm mute facility. The alarm cancel can be used to prevent re-activation of the audible and dial out alarms, until the fault is fully repaired.
Time Delay Feature - Factory set delay (usually 10 seconds), prevents bouncing on and off of alarm system by ensuring the alarm condition is constant before activating alarm system.

Q - How Many Channels Do I Need?

A - Some alarm systems you come across have so many channels, they would look more at home on the Star Ship Enterprise! We would love to supply you with a huge alarm system, with dozens of channels, but ask yourself if it is really necessary......... often tanks or alarm types can be grouped together (which also simplifies the farm wiring).

An average farm will usually need at most 16 channels, however, the flexibility of our designs enable an unlimited number, should you choose to take that route.
